Brno, July 20, 2025 – A nightmare season for Pecco Bagnaia . Marc Márquez is dominating the championship, and he's his teammate on Vox, while Pecco had set out to try and win the world championship, but GP25 didn't give him the confidence he needed, especially under braking. Despite pole position, number 93 dominated Brno as well, with Bagnaia dropping back to fifth place, overtaken by Bezzecchi, Acosta, and Bastianini. Only the latter's crash dropped him back to fourth. Little satisfaction. At the end of the race, Bagnaia complained of the usual braking problems, where everyone nowadays passes him, while he often fails to do so. In short, a complex puzzle across the board, as his strength has become his weakness.

Bagnaia: "Everyone passes me."

The Ducati rider's analysis was harsh, frank, and sincere at the end of the Brno GP, where Marc Marquez sealed his world title with a 120-point advantage over his brother, who crashed and took out Joan Mir , and a whopping 168 points over Bagnaia , who at best can hope to catch the Gresini rider. Fighting for the championship is no longer an option: "The problem is always the same one I've been complaining about since Thailand," he told Sky Sport. "I've always been very strong under braking and difficult to overtake, but now the situation has reversed and I'm one of the worst. Everyone overtakes me. I can't brake hard, and when I try to do so, the front closes and I go wide." It's a big problem for a MotoGP rider to be unfamiliar with braking, especially when his teammate is lightning fast and practically always wins: "I'm having difficulties, I'm in a limbo that's difficult to manage," was Pecco's laconic response. Furthermore, the problem could worsen until 2026 because the Desmosedici's DNA is this and unlikely to change: "We're trying a lot of things but we're not finding any improvements. I really don't think the bike's DNA suits me. I need to persevere." With these conditions and difficult results from the start, Bagnaia has never been in contention for the world championship, and even the rider has had to acknowledge this, effectively admitting defeat. He's only racing for second place: "The goal has changed in this first part of the season. We started out to win the world championship, but we have to be realistic, and in these conditions, it's difficult." Marquez is therefore aiming for the title to match Valentino Rossi , and from here on out, it will be just a long, solitary ride. Now, there's the summer break until mid-August when the world championship restarts in Austria, but everything is already decided. Even Marc has gone out on a limb: "With this advantage, only we can lose the world championship."
